Neillsville's Season Ends In Edgar

The Neillsville boys basketball team saw their season come to end in Edgar on Friday night, falling to the Wildcats 49-44 in a Division 4 Regional Semi-Final.The game was close throughout with neither team holding more than a 5 point lead. Edgar led 23-20 at the half, led by Josh Burish with 8 points. Neillsville's Hunter Hand also had 8 points in the first half, thanks to a pair of 3-pointers.
The second half was a see-saw affair as well. Edgar led by 3 late and missed a couple of front end bonus free throws but Neillsville missed a couple of 3-pointers to tie and Edgar made a couple of free throws late for the 5 point win.
Neillsville was led by senior Noah Henchen with 9 points. Alex King, Hunter Hand and senior Logan Matson all had 8 points. Burish had a game high 14 for the Wildcats.
Neillsville finishes the season 18-5. Edgar improves to 16-7 and will now play Auburndale in the Regional Final Saturday night.
