Trunkel's Career High 28 Leads Warriors

Neillsville freshman Braden Trunkel had a career high 28 points in an 87-49 Eastern Cloverbelt win over Gilman on Thursday night.Neillsville got to a quick start, largely due to a stingy defense, and led big at halftime, 58-16. Trunkel had 22 points to lead the Warriors.
Neillsville was held scoreless for almost 2 1/2 minutes to start the second half and were outscored by the Pirates 33-29 in the half, led by Trevor Schmitt who had 12 second half points.
Trunkel finished six 3-pointers in the game, and the Warriors made twelve 3's as a team. Dominic Elmhorst had 12 points for Neillsville and Hunter Hand added 11. Dallas Skabroud led Gilman with 18 points.
Neillsville improved to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in the ECC. They will travel to Loyal for a make-up game on Saturday night. Loyal is also 7-1 in the conference.
