Mesar Leads Neillsville Win With 20 Points

Lauren Mesar led the Neillsville girls basketball team to a 76-16 win over Spencer on Tuesday night scoring a game high 20 points...Spencer was close through the first half of the first half, but Neillsville's defense was too much for the Rockets and the Warriors built a 45-14 halftime lead. Mesar had 16 points in the half, while Lexi Baehr led the Rockets with 13.
Neillsville's defense held the Rockets scoreless in the second half until just seconds left when they made two free throws.
Unofficially, Spencer committed 36 turnovers in the game against the Warrior defense. The Warriors made eight three-pointers in the game, including 4 by Makayla Knuth and 3 by Kelly Barth.
Mesar led the way with 20 points, Samantha Cappadora had 15 points and Knuth added 12 points. Baehr led Spencer with 13 points.
Neillsville will host Colby on Thursday night at 6 pm at the Fieldhouse.
