27th Women's Adult Volleyball Tournament Held

The Neillsville Recreation Department held their “27th Annual” Adult Women’s Tournament on Saturday, March 18th at the Neillsville Fieldhouse.Twelve teams competed in the women’s tourney with “Semi-Pro” of West Salem being crowned the champion. Members of their team included; Neillsville native Megan Kuchenbecker and her teammates; Jennifer Ashley, Jackie Kiecker, Janelle Frank, Hanna North and Erin DeRosa.
Placing second was “WRADC” of Gilman/Altoona with “Nipps” of Marshfield placing third and “Balls to the Walls” from Pittsville rounding out the top four. “Bumpin Babes” from Marshfield captured 5th place as they slid by “Thrivant Financial of Stratford. Placing 7th was “Net Ninja’s” of Athens with “Serves You Right” of Chippewa Falls grabbing 8th place.
In the consolation championship, “Sexy Itches” of Sun Prairie took home the title with “Servivors” of Augusta, “Looneys” of Marshfield and the “Youngsters” of Neillsville rounding out the bracket. Members of the local squad included: Lexi Opelt, Jocelyn Thur, Morgan Hauge, Jordan Voigt, Mindy Schoengarth and Malory Zickert.
The Rec. Dept. would like to thank Hanson’s IGA who provided pizza for all the teams while Drippy Creek Saloon, Strike Time Lanes/Hide Out II, Brickyard Bar & Grill, and the Green Lantern donated complimentary beverages.
