Two Cloverbelt Boys Basketball Teams At State

The Columbus Catholic Dons and the McDonell Macks are in the Division 5 State Semi-Finals in Madison after posting Sectional Final wins on Saturday.Columbus Catholic, out of the Eastern Cloverbelt, downed Gresham on Saturday in a Sectional Final at D.C. Everest 68-62 to advance to the Division 5 State Semi-Finals on Friday morning at the Kohl Center in Madison where they will play Barneveld at 10:45 am.
McDonell, from the Western Cloverbelt, beat Luck 83-48 to advance to the other Division 5 State Semi-Final on Friday morning at 9:05 am against Shullsburg.
Defending Division 1 State Champion, Stevens Point, also punched their ticket to State with a 76-61 Sectional Final win over No. 1 Oshkosh North. Stevens Point will now take on Madison Memorial in a Division 1 State Semi-Final on Friday night at 6:35 pm.
Stratford and Stanley-Boyd both lost in the Sectional Finals on Saturday.
