Neillsville Boys End Season In Sectional

The Neillsville Warrior boys basketball team's run in the WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament ended on Thursday night as they lost 63-48 to Stratford in a Division 4 State Semi-Final at D.C. Everest High School.

The Warriors (17-9) trailed by just three, 26-23, at the half, led by Adam Schmidt who had 17 points.

The second half belonged to Stratford (18-8) as they outscored Neillsville 37-25 in the half and were led by Brenden Fecker who was 12 of 14 from the line in the half and scored 20 points. Neillsville was unable to get anything going consistently on offense and lost by 15.

Fecker finished with a game high 31 points, Vaughn Breit added 12. Schmidt led the Warrriors with 24 points, Cody Roman had 10.

Stratford now will play Roncalli in the Sectional Final on Saturday at Waupaca.
