Neillsville Boys In Regional Final Tonight

The Neillsville boys basketball team advanced to the Regional Final tonight after a 77-63 win over Wabeno-Laona in the Regional Semi-Final on Friday night at Laona.The Warriors got out to a quick 8-0 start on Friday night and never trailed in the Regional Semi-Final win. Issac Bryan had the hot hand in the first half with 11 points to lead 35-21.
In the second half, Adam Schmidt scored 14 points in the first 5 minutes to put Neillsville up by as many as 21. Schmidt would finish with a game high 26 points. Bryan added 19 and Cody Roman continued his fine play with 14 points.
The Rebels leading scorer, Cooper Chrisman, who was averaging 25 points game, was held to just 9 points by the Warrior defense.
Neillsville (16-8) will now travel to Marathon tonight to take on the Red Raiders in the Regional Final. Game time is 7pm and you can hear it live on 92.7 FM WPKG.
