Neillsville Girls End Season At Wausau West

The Neillsville girls basketball season game to end on Thursday night in the Division 4 Sectional Semi-Final as the Warriors fell to Wittenberg-Birnamwood 49-41 at the Wausau West Fieldhouse.

The Warriors and Chargers played a back and forth game in the first half with Wittenberg-Birnamwood taking a 28-25 lead into the locker room.

In the second half, Neillsville went cold from the outside and saw Wittenberg-Birnamwood's lead stretch to 11 at one point and the Warriors could not get it below 8 the rest of the half.

Kayla Lis led Neillsville with 15 points. Taylor Nier led the Chargers with 15. Neillsville finished 8 for 8 from the freethrow line.

Neillsville finishes another fine season with a record of 23-3. Good luck in the future and congratulations on a great high school career to the six seniors: Kayla Lis, Mindy Schoengarth, Morgan Hauge, Michelle Kyle, Lexi Opelt and Ashlee Diestler
