Regis And McDonell Win Crossover Playoffs

The Eau Claire Regis Ramblers and Chippewa Falls McDonell Macks won the 1st and 2nd place Cloverbelt Girls Basketball Crossover Playoff games on Saturday night.In the 2nd Place game, McDonell (19-3) led the Loyal Greyhounds (18-4) 26-25 at the half and then pulled away at the end to win 57-51.
Abby Opsal led the Macks with 15 points, Abby Klimek added 13. Morgan Reinwand led the Greyhounds with 12 points, Hailey Rueth had 11 points and Karsyn Rueth had 10 points.

In the 1st Place game, Regis (15-6) and Neillsville (20-2) went back and forth for most of the game. Regis led 28-26 at the half.
Neillsville freshman, Alli Schoengarth came up with a big steal late in the game to tie the score at 49. The Rambler's Hannah Anderson had a chance to win the game with two freethrows with 7 seconds left, but she missed them both and Morgan Hauge's shot at the buzzer was no good for the Warriors and the game went to overtime.
Neillsville did not score in the overtime and Regis scored 3 points to come away with a 52-49 victory.
