Neillsville Wins Share Of ECC Title

The Neillsville Warrior girls basketball finished with a share of the Eastern Cloverbelt Title with Loyal after a 68-31 win over Greenwood on Tuesday night.Neillsville and Loyal both finished with 15-1 conference records and with a tie-breaker, Neillsville will play in the 1st place playoff on Saturday at Osseo against Regis. Loyal will play in the second place playoff game against McDonell at 6 pm. Both games can be heard live on 92.7 FM WPKG.
On Tuesday night, the lady Warriors got out to a big halftime lead of 35-16 thanks to 16 first half points from Kayla Lis. Neillsville outscored the Greenwood 33-15 in the second half to secure the win. Lis finished with a game high 18 points, Mindy Schoengarth had 11 points and Samantha Cappadora added 10. Kassidy Lamovec led Greenwood with 14 points.
