Neillsville Boys Down Spencer

The Neillsville boys basketball team improved to 5-1 in Eastern Cloverbelt play after a 52-42 win over Spencer on Thursday night.Spencer got out to a 12-0 lead before Neillsville starting to get things going on a 3-pointer by Issac Bryan. Neillsville (5-1, 6-2) then outscored the Rockets (2-4, 2-6) 28-9 the rest of the half to lead 28-21 going into the locker room. Bryan led the way, scoring 14 points while Spencer's Jack Bezlyk had 12.
Neillsville turned up the defensively pressure in the second half, thanks the play of Cody Roman at the top of the 2-3 zone, and outscored the Rockets 24-21 for the 10 point win.
Bryan and Adam Schmidt led the Warriors with 16 points each, while Roman added 11.
Bezlyk led Spencer with 21 points.
Neillsville will be at Granton next Tuesday night.
