Newman Wins 4th Straight Championship

The Newman Catholic girls volleyball team has become the first team in Division 4 to win four straight championships after beating Clayton on Saturday at the Resch Center in Green Bay, 3-0.Newman Catholic (34-7) def. Clayton (28-6) - 25-22, 25-10, 25-13.
The Fighting Cardinals were making their ninth overall appearance and their eighth in the last nine seasons. The Fighting Cardinals’ have had two runner-up finishes, those came in 2009 and 2012.
Mariah Whalen led Newman Catholic with 26 kills. Rylie Vaughn had 21 assists and 10 digs.
