Hafferman's Five Touchdowns End Loyal's Season

Edgar senior running back, Alec Hafferman scored 5 touchdowns as the Wildcats beat Loyal in a Division 7 quarterfinal on Friday night 33-7.Hafferman scored three times on 1 yard runs, a 5 yard run and a 20 yard run. He finished with 117 yards on 22 carries to lead the Wildcats (9-3). He also had two interceptions on defense and a couple of fumble recoveries as well.
The Greyhounds (10-2) committed 6 turnovers in the game and were able to put together one scoring drive late in the first quarter, into the second quarter, culminating with a 1 yard quarterback sneak for a score by Riley Geiger that made the score 18-7. But the Hounds were not able to stop Hafferman in the third quarter when he scored two of his five touchdowns. Hunter Much led the Greyhounds in rushing with 64 yards on 18 carries.
Despite the loss it was a season for the record books for Loyal as they had a 10 win season for the first time and they made it to Level 3 of the playoffs for the first time as well.
Edgar moves on to play in the Division 7 State Semi-Final against defending Division 7 champion Bangor.
