Loyal Battles Almond-Bancroft In Level I Playoff Game

The Loyal Greyhound football team will play host to Almond-Bancroft on Friday night in a Level 1 playoff game...The Hounds, who finished second in the Cloverwood Conference, come into the game as the #2 seed in their Group with an 8-1 record. Almond-Bancroft (7-2) is the #7 seed and they finished 3rd in the Central Wisconsin-Ten Conference.
Loyal relies heavily on the running game, led by Stetson Rueth (785 yds, 11 tds), Hunter Much (623 yds, 7 tds) and Clayton Rarick (455 yds, 11 tds). The Hounds will throw if needed as senior quarterback Riley Geiger has thrown for over 650 yards and 5 touchdowns. Jordan Radue leads the team in receptions with 15.
Almond-Bancroft is led by junior running back Derek Baumgartner who has gained 1198 yds and has scored 24 touchdowns. Senior quarterback Wyatt Richtmyre has rushed for 407 yds and has thrown for 852 yds and 8 touchdowns.
Defensively, the Hounds allowed only 213 yds per game during the regular season but they will be tested Friday night by Almond-Bancroft.
Loyal is making their 7th playoff appearance and 5th in a row. Almond-Bancroft is making their 13th playoff appearance and this will also be their 5th straight year in the playoffs.
