Neillsville/Granton Volleyball Participates In Wausau West Tourney

The Neillsville/Granton girls volleyball particpated in the Wausau West Tournament on Saturday and finished 4-6 on the day.The Warriors played 5 teams. They won against Pittsville (25-15, 25-15), split wins with Eau Claire Regis (25-14, 23-25) and Rhinelander (25-12, 14-25), and lost against Northland Pines (13-25, 25-27) and Wausau West (18-25, 12-25).
Coach Tia Opelt commented after the tourney, "We didn't play our best today and we went through different lineups. We had times of playing well, and turned around the next game and didn't so well."
Top stats for the day were Morgan Hauge with 3 aces out of 12 good serves (Pittsville), Jocelyn Thur with 11 kills out of 27 good attacks and only one attack error (Northland Pines), Malory Zickert with 5 on target serve receives (Northland Pines), Jocelyn Thur with 7 solo blocks and 2 assists blocks (Wausau West) and 6 solo blocks and 2 assist blocks against Northland Pines as well, Lexi Opelt with 15 assists (Eau Claire Regis) and 14 assists (Northland Pines).
Neillsville/Granton will host Nekoosa in a Division 2 Regional Quarterfinal tomorrow night at the Fieldhouse beginning at 7pm.
