Schulte Named Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week

Thursday, September 22nd, 2016 -- 6:44 AM

The Packers have announced that Bill Schulte of Lincoln High School in Alma Center has been named the Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week.

Schulte, in his third year as the varsity head coach of Lincoln, led the Hornets to a 24-18 overtime victory over the Whitehall Memorial High School Norse, on Friday, Sept. 16. With the win over the Norse, the Hornets improved their record to 2-2 on the season. Lincoln will now travel to Independence, Wis., to face the Independence High School Indees.

Schulte was born in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from Stoughton High School in 1987. In high school, Schulte played football for his father, Coach Charles Schulte, playing quarterback and free safety. Schulte also participated in basketball and track.

He went on to receive his master’s degree from UW-Whitewater in communication disorders in 1987.

In addition to coaching football, Schulte is also head coach of the girls’ basketball team at Lincoln, and works as a speech and language clinician for the Neillsville School District.

The Packers will recognize one outstanding high school coach as their ‘Coach of the Week’ winner during the 2016 high school football season. Winners are awarded several items and privileges, including a $1,000 donation to the school’s football program from the Green Bay Packers and the NFL Foundation.
