Neillsville/Granton Volleyball Wins Triangular

The Neillsville/Granton girls volleyball team got their season off to a winning start by taking first in their own triangular on Tuesday night at The Fieldhouse.Neillsville 2-0, Eleva-Strum 1-1, Augusta 0-2
Match 1: Neillsville-Granton vs. Eleva-Strum, Neillsville-Granton won (3-0)(25-22, 25-20, 25-20)
Match 2: Eleva-Strum vs. Augusta, Eleva-Strum won (2-1)
Match 3: Neillsville-Granton vs. Augusta, Neillsville-Granton won (3-0)(25-15, 25-11, 25-12)
Head coach Tia Opelt said "We played well tonight to start off the season. The girls did a good job coming together and coming out with 2 wins tonight. We have a lot to work on yet, but I'm happy with how our season is starting out."
Lexi Opelt led the team with serving 100% (Eleva) and 94% (Augusta), serving 7 aces out of 36 attempts. Jocelyn Thur led the team in attacks at 52% (Eleva), 54% (Augusta), with 29 of the 45 attacks being kills. Lexi Opelt had a total 26 assists, and Mindy Schoengarth had 21 total assists.
Neillsville/Granton will host a tournament this Saturday at The Fieldhouse.
