Marshfield Legion Post 54 Regional Results

The Marshfield Clinic Post 54 American Legion Blue Devils fell behind 5-0 early and couldn’t recover, falling 9-3 to Wausau Post 10 in a second-round game at the Class AAA regional Tuesday night at Jack Hackman Field in Marshfield.Wausau pounded out 12 hits, enroute to a 9-3 win over Marshfield on Tuesday night. Wausau struck first with a run in the 1st inning, and four more in the 2nd. Marshfield came back to score t runs in their half of the 2nd, and one more in the 3rd. But Marshfield went scoreless after that, while Wausau added a run in the 4th, one in the 8th and two more in the 9th.
Grant Hill picked up the win for Wausau, while striking out three and walking none. Jack Donahue took the loss for Marshfield.
Earlier in the day, Marshfield beat Stevens Point 15-3 in the first game of the day.
The Marshfield Clinic Post 54 American Legion team features several players from area communities including Neillsville.
Also yesterday, D.C. Everest beat Plover 11-1. Plover will face Stevens Point in an elimination game at 1:00 p.m., followed by Wausau and Everest at 4 p.m. Marshfield will face either Point or Plover at 7:00 tonight.
