Thorp Wins Division 4 Championship!

The Thorp Cardinal girls softball team won their first WIAA Division 4 State Girls Softball Championship on Saturday beating Southwestern 9-2.The Cardinals finish the season 28-2.
Taylor Stroinski and Ellie Zurakowski each had 3 hits to lead the Cardinal offense which produced 13 total hits. Megan Schesel and Cassidy Stroinski each had 2 RBI's. Thorp scored 3 runs in the second inning, 1 run each in the 3rd and 4th innings and 2 each in the 5th and 6th innings.
Senior pitcher Lizzy Schimke went the distance for the Cardinals, giving up 2 runs, 1 earned, on 8 hits while striking 8 and walking none.
Southwestern, making their first trip to State in girls softball, finishes their season 25-4.
