Thorp Softball Is Regional Champs

The Thorp Cardinal girls softball team improved to 24-2 and won their Regional Championship with a 10-0 win over Newman Catholic on Friday afternoon in Thorp.Thorp scored 3 runs in the first, 4 in the second and 3 more in the bottom of the sixth to get the win.
Ellie Zurakowski led the offense attack going 4 for 4 with 3 RBI's, while Taylor Stroinski was 2 for 3 and Karley Kryzanski was 2 for 4. Thorp had 10 hits as a team.
Lizzy Schimke went the distance on the mound giving up just 1 hit while striking out 12 and walking none. Just Newman Cardinal batters reached base in the game.
Thorp will now travel to Assumption for a Sectional Semi-Final on Tuesday.
