Neville Earns MWC’s Pitcher of the Week

St. Norbert College’s Sam Neville of Neillsville has earned the Midwest Conference's Pitcher of the Week award.Neville earned two wins for St. Norbert this past week. Neville pitched a complete-game shutout (seven innings) in a 10-0 win over Lakeland College last Tuesday. Neville allowed just three hits with six strikeouts and no walks against the Muskies.
Neville then won a must-win game for the Green Knights in a 17-1 win Sunday over Carroll University. Neville went six innings allowing four hits and one run with no walks and five strikeouts. Neville allowed seven hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts in 13 innings for a 0.69 ERA.
Sam is now 2-2 on the season with a 4.97 ERA in 29 innings pitched.
St. Norbert College clinched a berth in the Midwest Conference Tournament for the 19th time in the last 22 seasons with an 11-6 win over Lawrence University in a Midwest Conference North Division game on Monday.
The Green Knights (17-12, 10-6 MWC North) can still host the MWC Tournament on May 13-14 provided Beloit College and Ripon College split its four-game series this weekend, or Ripon wins three of the four games. It also marked the 13th consecutive season St. Norbert has won at least 10 MWC games.
