Lindner Named To All-Tournament Team

Tuesday, March 15th, 2016 -- 11:09 AM

UW-Milwaukee sophomore Jenny Lindner of Neillsville was named to the All-Horizon League Tournament Team after UW-Milwaukee finished 2nd over the weekend.

In the semi-finals Milwaukee defeated Wright State of Dayton, Ohio, by a score of 68-60. The highly contested game saw Neillsville native Jenny Lindner score a team high 31 points. Lindner made 11 of 15 attempts, shooting 73% from the field. After the thrilling win on Saturday, the team never managed to find a rhythm in the championship game and was defeated soundly by the Phoenix.

Jenny has had a solid sophomore campaign averaging 6 rebounds and 12.3 points per game. She scored a career high 32 points on March 3rd vs. Oakland University, which propelled her to earn “Player of the Week” honors for the Horizon League.

The Panthers are currently 19-12 and experiencing their best season in a number of years. They will travel to Williams Arena in Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Wednesday evening in an opening round game of the National Invitational Tournament. The game is slated to start at 7:00 p.m. in the nostalgic “Barn”.

The Gophers finished 6th in the Big Ten, and feature superstar Rachel Banham. The senior guard is averaging 27.6 points per game, in addition to having put up 60 points vs. the Northwestern Wildcats. She was also selected as “Player of the Year” in the Big Ten conference.
