Tri-Star Basketball Winners

The Optimist Club of Neillsville conducted their annual Tri-Star Basketball competition for boys and girls ages 8 -13 on Friday, March 4th.

Over 40 children participated with the top winners in each age category as follows:

8 yrs: Boys - 1) Hunter Walter, 2) Andrew Hoeser, 3) Mason Walter; Girls - 1)Jessica Kuhn, 2) Brailey Opelt

9 yrs: Boys - 1) Joe Vance, 2) Nolyn McFarlane, 3) Colter Dillenbeck; Girls - 1) Lilly Opelt, 2) Paris Opelt, 3) Gracie Schoengarth, 4) Cali Moseid, 5) Kaylee Lawrence, 6) McKenna Dolle

10 yrs: Boys - 1) Hudson Hanson; Girls - 1) Delaney Rochester, 2) Paige Voigt, 3) Jada Gurney, 4) Vickie Ratsch, 5) Abigail Koepp, 6) Sydney King, 7) Sella Anderson

11 yrs: Boys - 1) Andrew Brown; Girls - 1) Miranda Mijal, 2) Skylar Hart, 3) Kati Mayer, 4) MacKenzie Hediger

12 yrs: Boys - 1) Trumale Myers, 2) Michael Byrne, 3) Teagen Dillenbeck; Girls - 1) Kara Oldham, 2) Bella Opelt, 3) Emma Vance, 4) McKenzie Keller, 5) Ariana Rochester

13 yrs: Boys - 1) Collin O'Brien; Girls - 1) Jaden Barth, 2) Emily Hanson, 3) Bianca Fischer, 4) Libny Castillo, 5) Aliyah Victors, 6) Fern Yellowbank

The event included competition in passing, dribbling and shooting skills. Each first place winner received a plaque, while all other participants received medals or ribbons. The first place winners in each local contest now have the opportunity to compete in the state Tri-Star competition held in Fond du Lac in April.
