Neillsville Boys Win Regional Quarterfinal

The Neillsville boys basketball team advances to play Edgar on Friday night in a Regional Semi-Final after beating Auburndale in the Regional Quarterfinal on Tuesday night 55-49.Neillsville trailed 4-0 early but then scored 11 unanswered and never gave up the lead again. They led 24-19 at the half led by Jake Kunze's 10 points.
In the second half, Auburndale was able to get as close as 2 points several times down the stretch but the Warriors were able to make some late freethrows and hang on for the win.
Neillsville (14-9) was led by Michael Dux with 17 points, Kunze added 16. They finished 19 for 31 from the freethrow line compared to Auburndale's 10 for 12. Luke Olsen led the Apaches with 11 points.
The Warriors are in Edgar on Friday night for the Regional Semi-Final. Game time is 7pm and you can hear it live on 92.7 FM WPKG.
