Neillsville Wins Regional Title

The Neillsville Warrior girls basketball team was crowned Regional Champs after a 42-26 win over Auburndale on Saturday night at Auburndale.Neillsville (20-4) trailed 6-0 early and didn't score until almost 6 minutes into the game but they were able to stay close in the first half and eventually took a 19-13 lead into the locker room. The Warriors made six 3-pointers in the half and Auburndale struggled from the field and the freethrow line.
The Warriors would surrender the lead in the second half as they led by as many 10 mid-way through the half and they were able to extend the lead late on freethrows. z
Neillsville was led by Ashlee Dietsler who had four 3-pointers for 12 points, Dani Pfieffer added 9.
Auburndale was led by Paiton Richardson with 9 points.
Neillsville will now play Marathon (21-3) in the Sectional Semi-Final on Thursday night at Wausau West. You can hear it live on 92.7 FM WPKG starting at 7pm.
