Neillsville Girls Move On To Regional Final

The Neillsville girls basketball team will play in the Regional Final Saturday night after beating Edgar 53-43 on Friday night.Neillsville (19-4) got out to an early lead at 7-1 before Edgar came back to tie it at 7. Neillsville then took the lead back and never gave it back to the Wildcats as the Warriors led 33-21 at the half.
Neillsville's lead stayed in double figures for most of the second half but the Edgar press caused some turnovers and they were able to get back into the game, but Neillsville was able to hang on for the win.
The Warriors were led by Kayla Lis with 16 points including four 3-pointers, Lauren Mesar added 12. Edgar was led by Tianna Borchardt who had 15 points including 8 for 8 from the freethrow line.
Neillsville will now travel to Auburndale on Saturday night in the Regional Final. You can hear live on 92.7 FM WPKG starting at 7 pm.
