Lindner Scores 12 To Lead Panther Win

Tuesday, December 29th, 2015 -- 9:45 AM

Sophomore Jenny Lindner of Neillsville had 12 points to lead UW-Milwaukee to a 73-60 Victory Over IPFW on Monday night..

Lindner and junior Sierra Ford-Washington each tallied 12 points for the Panthers. Jenny went only 1 for 8 from the field but 10 for 10 from the free throw line. She also grabbed 8 rebounds.

"Jenny stepped up with confidence," head coach Kyle Rechlicz said. "Her shot wasn't on, but I just kept telling her 'find other ways to score; find other ways to help us be successful' and she did. She was ripping through defenders and getting to the free throw line. To go 10-for-10 in a game where you aren't shooting very well, that means you have confidence in yourself that you can handle that pressure."

The Panthers (5-5) got back to .500 on the season. They will close out a four-game homestand with a New Year's Day matinee against UW-Green Bay to open the Horizon League slate. Tip time against the Phoenix is set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Klotsche Center.
