Neillsville Girls Win 4th In A Row

The Neillsville girls basketball team won their 4th straight with a 52-46 victory over Altoona on Monday night.

The Warriors (5-2) got out to ten point halftime lead at 22-12 thanks to 10 first half points from Kayla Lis.

In the second half, the Warriors were up by 12 on a few occasions but the Lady Rails were able to keep clawing back and trailed by 1 late in the game several times. KaSandra Springer made 7 straight freethrows late in the second half to keep Altoona (1-4) in it, but Neillsville's Morgan Hauge made 5 in a row from the line late in the second half and Lis also made a couple of big freethrows to keep Neillsville in the lead.

Neillsville made 17 of 26 from the line in the second half and 23 0f 34 for the game. Altoona was 10-17 from the line in the second half and 15 - 24 in the game.

Lis led all scorers with 20 points, Hauge added 12for the Warriors. Springer had 13 points to lead Altoona while Emily Ellis had 11.

The Warriors made seven 3-pointers in the game while the Lady Rails hit five 3's.

Neillsville will host Greenwood on Thursday night.
