Neillsville Alumni In Action This Week

A couple of former Neillsville High School athletes were in action this past week in wrestling and women's basketball....Phillip Opelt of Cornell College is returning from a shoulder injury last season and got this season off to a good start on Tuesday when he recorded a quick pin in 1:52 over Cannon Trester of Simpson at 133 pounds. Cornell won the match 27-18. The Rams compete at the Luther Open Saturday in Decorah.
Alleah Voigt, playing for UW-Eau Claire, saw 16 minutes of playing time in an exhibition game against the Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday night. Voigt was 2 for 5 from the field for 4 points and she also pulled down a couple of rebounds and had a steal. The Blugolds lost 69-49. They will back in action next Wednesday at Winona St.
