Neillsville Opens Season With A Win

The Neillsville football team opened the 2015 season with a 35-6 win over Rib Lake/Prentice on Friday night.Junior quarterback Mason Barth led the Warrior offense with 2 rushing touchdowns and a 15 yard scoring strike to Mikey Dux. He finished with 119 yards on the ground and 7 of 13 passing for 79 yards.
Jake Waltemate had a 12 yard touchdown run and Jahean McGee added a 50 yd scamper for a touchdown to account for the rest of Neillsville's scoring.
Jason Kurth blocked a punt that led to a score in the 2nd quarter, and senior Chase Ehlers was involved in a number of tackles to lead the Warrior defense.
Neillsville will host Cadott in a Cloverbelt Conference matchup next Friday night at 7 pm. You can hear it live on 92.7 FM WPKG.
