Neillsville Baseball Team Finishes First For Third Straight Year

The Neillsville baseball team beat Greenwood on Thursday 18-4 to finish the conference season 15-1 and tied for first in the Eastern Cloverbelt with Spencer.This is the third straight first place finish for Neillsville in the Eastern Cloverbelt.
Devon Opelt had a big night for Neillsville finishing 3 for 3 from the plate with 5 RBI's and 4 runs scored. Nathan Peterson not only got the win on the mound with 4 strikeouts and 4 walks, but he also was 3 for 4 at the plate with 2 doubles and 3 RBI's. Logan Matson was 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Warriors as well.
Kody Learman had a homerun for Greenwood.
Neillsville, now 20-1 overall on the season will be at La Crosse Aquinas next Friday. Aquinas is ranked No. 1 in Division 3.
