3 WIAC Teams Make NCAA D3 Baseball Field

For the second straight season, three WIAC teams have received bids into the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater secured two of the 16 available at-large bids into the 56-team field, while UW-Stevens Point received an automatic bid after winning the WIAC tournament title.
UW-La Crosse (28-12) and UW-Whitewater (33-9) will compete in an eight-team, double-elimination regional hosted by UW-La Crosse at Copeland Park this Wednesday thru Sunday. The Eagles are making their fourth NCAA appearance and will open regional action against College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) (32-11). The Warhawks are the defending national champions and own 18 NCAA appearances, they will meet Ripon College (Wis.) (23-14) in their first game.
UW-Stevens Point (31-12) will travel to Waterloo, Iowa, for its regional competition beginning Wednesday hosted by Wartburg College (Iowa). The Pointers have made 16 appearances in NCAA action and will square off against Greenville College (Ill.) (22-19) in their opening contest.
