3 Run 6th Propels Rockets To Win

3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning were enough for the Spencer Rockets to beat the Greenwood Indians in Eastern Cloverbelt Conference baseball 5-2 on Friday.With the scored tied at 2 going into the bottom of the 6th, Spencer got a big 2 RBI double from Bobby Pilz and an RBI single from Mitch Susa to give the Rockets a 5-2 lead.
Mitch Susa, who came on in relief of Pilz in the 6th inning was able to get Greenwood out in the top of the 7th on a a couple of strike outs and a fly out to secure the win.
Pilz ended up going 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored. He pitched 5 2/3 allowing 2 runs on 4 hits striking out 4 and walking 3. Susa got the win going 1 1/3 allowing no runs or hits while striking out 2.
Devin Toburen took the loss for Greenwood, going 1 2/3 giving 3 runs on 2 hits. He led the Indians at the plate going 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Greenwood falls to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in ECC play while Spencer improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
