Neillsville Boys Basketball Season Comes To An End

The Neillsville boys basketball season came to an end on Tuesday night in a Regional Quarterfinal as they were upset by Elk Mound 46-35.Elk Mound was the No. 6 seed in the regional while Neillsville was a No. 3 seed.
Elk Mound got out an 8-2 first quarter lead led by Brandon Bohl who had 6 of those points on a pair of three pointers.
The three-pointer was the theme for the Mounders as they made 4 more as a team in the 2nd quarter to take a 22-15 lead into the locker room at the half.
Elk Mound made 5 more three's in the second half and outscored Neillsville 24-20 to win by 11 and move on to the next round.
Neillsville was led by Jake Kunze who had 12 points. Dane Lew led the Mounders, also with 12 points.
Neillsville ends their season with a record of 15-8, while Elk Mound improved to 10-13 and will travel to Altoona on Friday night for the Regional Semi-Final against the second seeded Railroaders.
