UW-Whitewater Wins WIAC Wrestling Championship

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater captured its fourth consecutive WIAC wrestling championship at Kolf Sports Center Fieldhouse on Sunday.The league crown for the Warhawks is the conference-leading 16th in program history. UW-Whitewater compiled 162.50 points enroute to the team title to surpass UW-La Crosse's second-place total of 138.50 points. UW-Stevens Point placed third with 109.50 points, UW-Platteville fourth with 59, UW-Oshkosh fifth with 45 and UW-Eau Claire sixth with 40.50.

All-Sportsmanship Team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school. Named to the squad were: UW-Eau Claire's Mat Rieckhoff; UW-La Crosse's Derek Weinmann; UW-Oshkosh's Korey Kleinhans; UW-Platteville's Robbie Kerr; UW-Stevens Point's Michael Bannach; and UW-Whitewater's Cameron Loomis.
