Kunze Leads Neillsville To Win Over Greenwood

Jake Kunze had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead Neillsville over Greenwood 61-40 in Eastern Cloverbelt boys basketball on Thursday night.

Kunze had 10 first half points as Neillsville built a 26-12 halftime lead. Dane Toburen had 8 points at the half for Greenwood.

The Warriors outscored Greenwood 24-14 in the third quarter led by Kunze, Sam Neville and Nathan Peterson who each had 6 points. Neillsville led 50-26 going into the 4th quarter.

In the 4th quarter, Greenwood outscored Neillsville 14-11 as Delten Schmitz and Booker Bredlau each had 5 points but it wasn't enough as the Warriors won 61-40.

Each team had two players in double figures, Kunze with 18 and Peterson with 10 to lead Neillsville while Toburen had 18 and Bredlau 10 (all in the second) to lead Greenwood.

The Warriors out-rebounded the Indians 40-20. Greenwood shot just 31% from the field.

Neillsville improved to 9-3 in ECC play and 9-6 overall while Greenwood fell to 4-7 in the conference and 6-9 overall.
