Loyal Girls Improve to 8-0 In The ECC

The Loyal Greyhound girls basketball team is now 10-2 overall and 8-0 in the Eastern Cloverbelt after a 37-31 win over Neillsville on Friday night.Loyal led after one quarter 9-7 and then outscored the Warriors 10-2 in the second quarter to open up a ten point lead at the half, 19-9.
In the third quarter, Neillsville was able to get to within 3 but Loyal was able to outscore Neillsville again 10-9 to lead by eleven heading to the 4th quarter.
In the final quarter, Neillsville battled back to get to within 4 late, but time ran out on the Warriors and Loyal wins the season series over the Warriors and stays all alone atop the Eastern Cloverbelt.
Loyal's Missy Benz led all scorers with 12 points including 8 for 9 from the freethrow line.
Mindy Schoengarth led Neillsville with 10 points, 8 of those in the second half.
Neillsville is now 7-2 in the ECC and 9-3 overall.
