Neillsville Uses Big Second Half To Down Colby

Neillsville outscored Colby 37-19 in the second to pull away for a 65-43 win in ECC boys basketball on Tuesday night.

The Warriors outscored the Hornets 18-9 in first quarter before Colby had a 15-10 second quarter advantage but Neillsville still led 28-24 at the half, led by Nathan Peterson's 13 points.

In the second half, Michael Dux got the Warrior offense going with 11 third quarter points as Neillsville outscored Colby 21-12 and then Neillsville won the fourth quarter as well with a 16-7 advantage.

Dux led all scorers with 22 points, Peterson added 15 for Neillsville. Colby had three players in double figures, led by Ty Raatz with 15, Tanner Gaetz and Nolan Derrico each had 11.

Neillsville improves to 5-2 overall and 5-1 in the Eastern Cloverbelt. Colby falls to 2-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
