43 Second Half Points Propel Neillsville To Win

The Neillsville boys basketball team outscored Loyal 43-23 in the second half to erase an 11 point halftime deficit to win 65-56 in ECC action on Thursday night.

The Greyhounds got off to a fast start leading 27-15 after one quarter led by Cameron Brussow who had 10 points. Loyal made five three's in the quarter.

The second quarter was a much lower scoring frame as Neillsville outscored Loyal 7-6 to trail 33-22 going into the locker room.

In the third quarter the Warriors started to get hot as they outscored the Hounds 20-11 led by Sam Neville's 10 points and they trailed by two heading into the final quarter.

In the 4th, Neillsville's Mike Dux got hot from outside hitting on 4 three pointers and the Warriors outscored the Greyhounds 23-12 to win 65-56.

Brussow led all scorers with 21 points, Riley Geiger added 18 for Loyal.

Neillsville had four players in double figures, led by Neville with 18, Dux had 15 and Devon Opelt and Neal Matson each had 11 points.

Neillsville improved to 3-0 in the ECC and 3-1 overall while Loyal drops to 1-2 in the conference and 2-2 overall.
