Stanley-Boyd Moves On To Level 3

Friday, October 31st, 2014 -- 10:50 PM

The Stanley-Boyd Oriole football team is now 10-0 after a 35-7 Level 2 Playoff win over Chequamegon on Friday night in Stanley.

The Orioles got off to a 3-0 lead early in the first quarter on a 25 yard FG by Brandon Herrick.

Sam Lehman got the Screaming Eagles on the board on a 1 yard TD run late in the first quarter.

A Seth Hause to Clint Warminski 39 yard pass play put Stanley-Boyd up 10-7 and they never looked back.

Warminski returned a punt 49 yards for a score early in the 3rd quarter and Ronny Ponick had two touchdown runs of 1 yard and 36 yards. Zach Turner wrapped up the scoring for Stanley-Boyd with a 56 yard run midway through the 4th quarter.

Ponick led the Orioles with 106 yards on 15 carries. Turner added 89 yards on 2 carries.
Hause was 8 of 16 for 139 yards.

The Orioles did turn the ball over 4 times but Chequamegon could only capitalize on one of those.

Stanley-Boyd will now play Regis in a Level 3 game next weekend.
