Stanley-Boyd Dominates In Level One

The unbeaten and defending Division 5 State Champion Stanley-Boyd Oriole football team dominated Cameron 42-0 in Level 1 of the WIAA Football Playoffs on Friday.The Orioles (9-0) jumped out to an early lead on a 23 yard TD run by Ronny Ponick early in the first quarter. They would score again later in the quarter on a 1 yard dive by Clint Warminski making the score 14-0 after one.
In the second quarter, Stanley-Boyd continue to dominate, scoring 3 times in the quarter. First on a 69 yard pass play from Seth Hause to Ponick. Then a 1 yard run by Zach Turner followed late in the half by a 25 yard scoring run from Ben Turner to make the halftime score 35-0.
The Orioles would score just once in the second half on a 3 yard TD run from Warminski about midway through the 3rd quarter.
Stanley-Boyd's defense held the Comets to just 109 yards and 4 first downs while offensively, Stanley-Boyd gained 143 yards thru the air and 269 yards on the ground led by Ponick with 97 yards on 6 carries. Hause finished 7 of 11 for 127 yards and a touchdown through the air.
Stanley-Boyd will take on Chequamegon (7-3) in Level 2 this Friday night in Stanley. Game time is 7 pm and you can hear it live on 107.5 FM WCCN The Rock and online at 1075therock.com.
