Wisconsin Volleyball Team Ranked Fourth In NCAA RPI

The University of Wisconsin volleyball team is ranked fourth in the first NCAA RPI of the season, released Monday.

According to uwbadgers.com, the RPI is one of the many tools used in the selection process for NCAA tournament participation. The weighting of the RPI is based on strength of schedule (50 percent), Division I winning percentage (25 percent) and opponents? strength of schedule (25 percent).

Stanford (14-0) leads the list followed by Florida State (15-0) and Texas (11-0), respectively. Wisconsin is the top Big Ten Conference team in the ranking.

Nebraska (9-4) is the second Big Ten team in the ranking, coming in at ninth.

The Badgers (12-2 overall, 3-1 Big Ten) return home to host Big Ten newcomers Rutgers (7-10, 0-4) and Maryland (7-8, 0-4) this weekend. The Scarlet Knights come to town on Friday at 7 p.m. while the Terrapins and Badgers serve off on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches are in the UW Field House.
