Big Scoring Plays Lead G2 To Victory

Four scoring plays of over 20 yards led Greenwood/Granton to a 30-14 win over Chippewa Falls McDonell on Friday night.

After a scoreless first quarter, G2 got on the board first on a Logan Johnson 24 yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion failed and G2 led 6-0.

On the ensuing kickoff, Nathan Hoglund went 80 yards for the touchdown. The two-point conversion was good and it was 8-6 going into halftime.

McDonell scored first in the second half about midway through the third quarter on an Alex Ohde to Lance Schoch 18 pass play. The two-point conversion was good and it was 14-6 Macks.

About two minutes later though, G2 got back on the scoreboard on a Booker Bredlau 25 yard run - two-point conversion was good it was 14-14.

G2 scored twice in the fourth quarter, one on a Bredlau to Delton Schmitz 32 yard pass play and the other on a 28 yard touchdown run by Schmitz. Both two-point conversions were good and the final was 30-14.

G2 unofficially had two players over 100 yards rushing led by Bredlau with 117 yards and Johnson with 108. Schmitz added 62 yards on the ground, all in the second half.

Greenwood/Granton improved to 2-3 while McDonell falls to 0-5.
