Willmar & Lakeshore Lead Divisions Heading Into All-Star Break

The first half winners in the Northwoods League hold the top spots in the second half so far as they head into the All-Star break today thru Wednesday...

Willmar leads the North Division in the second half by a half game over Eau Claire and Lakeshore is on top in the South Division by 4 games over Wisconsin and Kenosha.

The Northwoods League All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. in Mequon, WI.

In the North Division, the Mankato Moondogs and the Waterloo Bucks lead the way with five selections each. The Eau Claire Express have two players on the roster. Catcher Daniel Salters and third baseman Tyler Hermann.

In the South Division, the defending Summer Collegiate World Series Champion Madison Mallards have six players on the South roster. The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters have two players, shortstop Zack Domingues and pitcher Jon Malmin who will be unable to participate. La Crosse has three players on the roster, second baseman Ryne Birk, outfielder Mike Nadratowski and pitcher Breckin Williams. Wisconsin also has three players on the roster, second baseman Jake Jefferies, third baseman Paul DeJong and pitcher Max Ising.

Field Manager Eddy Morgan and his coaching staff from the hometown Lakeshore Chinooks will be in the dugout for the South. Willmar Field Manager Drew Sabehagen and his staff will manage the North All-Stars.
