Neillsville "Black" Team Is Tourney Champs

The Central Wisconsin Girls Basketball League/JV Division held their annual, "Handicap" Tourney last night at the Neillsville Fieldhouse.Six teams competed with the Neillsville Black team being crowned the champion. The local squad, who has improved greatly throughout the summer, took down Auburndale 25-18 in the championship game. (The Apaches were the "regular" league champs and had dealt the Nsv. squad two earlier defeats) Members of the Neillsville team include:
Erin & Emily Voigt, Olivia Hanson, Kaelyn Krultz, Morgan Bethea, Lauren Mesar, Alycia Zickert, Charity Hribar, Grace King and Mckayla Knuth.
Winning the Consolation Championship was the Augusta Beavers as they nipped Black River Falls. Also in the consolation bracket the Neillsville Gray squad completed their season with a hard fought 22-14 victory over the Loyal Greyhounds. Members of the squad include: Baileigh Schumacher, Katie Kunze, Maggie McDonald, Venessa Zickert, Kelly Barth, Samantha Capadora, Maddie Chadwick, Mady Kopreck & Samantha Kuhn.
The varsity teams will complete their season with a "Handicap" tourney on Tuesday, July 22nd. Games start at 5:30 at the Fieldhouse. The public is invited to attend.
