Borseth To Be Featured Speaker At 2014 Scholar Athlete Award Banquet

UW-Green Bay Women's basketball coach, Kevin Borseth will be the featured speaker at the 2014 Scholar Athlete Award Banquet scheduled for this Sunday at the Jefferson Inn in Wausau.

Borseth led a young UW-Green Bay squad to its 16th-consecutive Horizon League title and 27th all-time 20+ win season en route to being named the Horizon League Coach of the Year for the eighth time in his 11 years at the helm.

Borseth graduated from Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., in 1976 with a bachelor?s degree in business administration. As a member of the Laker basketball roster, Borseth helped his team to a 27-3 record over two years as well as a 1976 NAIA championship berth. Prior to his time at LSSU, Borseth attended Gogebic Community College and played for the Samson basketball team.

Borseth and his wife Connie have five children; KC, Kayla, Carli, Kaitlyn and Kale.

Wisconsin?s 32 top scholar athletes, 16 senior girls and 16 senior boys from public and nonpublic high schools, have been selected as the 2014 State Scholar Athlete recipients by the WIAA.

Attending from our area will be; Albert Goerlitz and Bailey Karaba from Owen-Withee High School, Nicholas Zander of Chippewa Falls McDonell Central High School and Mary Sigler of Assumption High School.
