Neillsville Volleyball Fans Show Support

Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013 -- 10:14 AM

Neillsville fans showed their support last night to remember an Amherst player who died unexpectedly last week.

It was almost a week ago that a member of the Amherst Falcons volleyball team, junior Kayla Toelle, died unexpectedly in her sleep. Last night during the Neillsville/Amherst Regional quarterfinal in Neillsville, Amherst and Neillsville both showed their support to remember Kayla?s school spirit and love of the game by wearing Falcon blue and the number 5 was worn on the court.

Kayla is the daughter of Mike Toelle, a 1982 graduate from Neillsville High School, who is now the Elementary principal at Amherst.

Neillsville athletic director Mark Craig said that it was the students who had the idea to show their support for the Falcons on the court and in the stands.
