Monday, September 30th, 2013 -- 9:57 AM

For the first time since 2007, the Wisconsin volleyball team opened Big Ten Conference play with a 2-0 mark.

After sweeping No. 20 Purdue on Friday night, the Badgers downed Indiana 25-23, 19-25, 25-16 and 25-16 on Saturday night at the UW Field House. Wisconsin also improves to 13-1 on the season, tied for the fifth best start in program history with one loss.

Despite committing 12 service errors, double the amount of Indiana, Wisconsin was able to pull through the match thanks to their blocking and attack percentage. The Badgers hit .293 (52-13-133) overall while Indiana was held to .130 (49-32-131), and they out-blocked the Hoosiers 7-4.

UW recorded just one service ace in the match while Indiana had two aces, marking the first time this season the Badgers recorded fewer aces than an opponent. The Hoosiers also outdug Wisconsin 55-46 as Lauren Carlini led UW with 12 digs. She recorded her seventh double-double of the season, putting up 43 assists. Taylor Morey also recorded double-digit digs with 11.
