Fastpitch Softball Tourney Results

The Neillsville Booster Club held their "22nd Annual" Fastpitch Softball Tournament on Saturday in Neillsville.

22 teams competed in the daylong tourney which saw 33 games contested.

In the 16 and under division, Stratford reigned as the champion with a perfect 3-0 record. Placing second was WCCV Lady Starz with Neillsville placing third and Spencer taking 4th place. Members of the Neillsville squad which was coached by Amy and Robin Harder included: Taylor Gleisner, Jenny Lindner, Sami Larabee, Chelsea Opelt, Jordan Voigt, Erin Diestler, Jenna Pavlac, Denise Erpenbach, Katlyn Crothers, Bekka Zickert, Taylor Henchen, Sydney Miller, Dani and Allie Pfieffer.

In the 14 and under bracket, the WCCV Lady Starz Red team from the LaCrosse area finished a perfect 3-0 to take home the gold medals. Onalaska captured the silver medals. A tough battle for third place was waged with WCCV Lady Starz Blue edging Marshfield. In the contest for 5th place, Neillsville squeaked by Stratford. The Neillsville team was coached by Scott Krultz, Greg Zickert and Jerry Pfieffer and included Ashlee Diestler, Jordan Voigt, Jenna Pavlac, Malory Zickert, Lexi Opelt, Krista Krultz, Brittanee Roehl, Corrtney Schmidt, Ashley Walker, Lexi Hinker and Cassidy Lamovec.

In the 12 and under group, Stratford ruled the competition with Rapids/Port Edwards second. The Neillsville squad dropped a heartbreaking 9-8 decision in their final contest to finish 1-2 and in third place. Members of the hometown squad who were coached by Josh Johnson, Brent King and Paul Klein included: Emily and Erin Voigt, Baliegh Johnson, Molly Klein, Brianna Roehl, Kaelyn Krultz, Olivia Hanson, Alycia Zickert, Venessa Zickert, Megan King, Hannah Erickson, Charity Hribar and Morgan Bethea.

In the final bracket, the 10 and under, Marathon was the champion with the Neillsville Warriors capturing the silver medals. Members of this talented squad coached by Missy Stockheimer, Carrie Schmidt, and Taylor Gleisner include: Callie Schmidt, Terren Stockheimer, Bella Opelt, Catrina Craig, Ellie and Kaia Moseid, Emma Moseley, Riley Voigt, Sarah Dux, Jaden Barth, Allison King, Abby Averill, Josie Voigt, Emily Hanson and Olivia Friemoth. Third place was earned by the Rapid Fire team out of Wisconsin Rapids with fourth place being secured by the Seymour Flames. Winning the Consolation Championship was the WCCV Lady Starz as a result of their victory over Port Edwards. Rounding ou the tourney competition was Taylor defeating Marshfield for 7th place.

The Booster Club would like to thank the many volunteers who helped make the tourney a huge success. All profits are used to support youth sports at Neillsville Schools.
