D.C. Everest Coach In National HOF

Wayne Steffenhagen, former head football coach at D.C. Everest was recently inducted into the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame.Steffenhagen was one of 31 individuals from across the country, and one of two from Wisconsin inducted. Former Racine Park football coach Phil Dobbs also was inducted into the NHSACA Hall of Fame.
Steffenhagen totaled 276 wins, five state championships and 18 conference titles in 33 years with Everest.
He stepped down after the 2010 campaign and will spend his second season as an assistant with the Evergreens sophomore squad after he was a volunteer assistant with Newman Catholic for a year. This will be his 50th year on the field as a football coach.
Steffenhagen was also inducted into the WFCA Hall of Fame in 2002.
